Pauline M. Snyder (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Pauline Mae Snyder, daughter of John “J. H.” King and Minda Woody King, was born March 12, 1930, near Bloodland, in Pulaski County, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, January 10, 2019, in Cox Medical Center South, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-eight years, nine months, and twenty-eight days.
On July 3, 1949, she was united in marriage to Wallace Gayle “Bob” Snyder, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob, on February 22, 2014; two infant brothers; and a sister, Maxine Cain and a brother-in-law, Garland Cain.
Pauline is survived by a son, Wallace “Gregg” Snyder, and his wife, Margaret, of Lebanon, Missouri; a daughter, Paula G. (Snyder) Cox, of Waynesville, Missouri; three grandchildren, Lyle Cox, Lindsay Vestal, and Laura Stratton; six great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Josie, Paula, Samuel, Emmylou, and Thomas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
She was raised in the Bloodland and Evening Shade communities and then moved with her family to the Lebanon area, where she graduated from Lebanon High School. After she and Bob were married, they made their home near Lebanon, and lovingly raised their children. Pauline was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, and also was the office manager for the United Telephone Company in Lebanon for thirty-five years. Later, she worked as a pre-arrangement counselor for Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon for several years.
Pauline made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was a longtime, active member of Heritage Baptist Church.
She and Bob enjoyed traveling and camping. She was a wonderful hostess and enjoyed entertaining people in her home, where she always set a beautiful table. She was always willing to help anyone in need, and liked sharing her opinions and viewpoints. She stayed very involved in her children’s lives and even took Paula and her friends to see the Beatles in St. Louis. She believed in eating healthy, but liked driving fast. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the greatest joy in her life and they and their friends always lovingly referred to Pauline as “Gongie”.
Pauline was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
Memorial donations to Heritage Baptist Church may be left at the funeral home.
