Pauline Watkins (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Pauline Doris Watkins, long-time and well-known Bolivar resident, passed away on Thursday morning, September 6, 2012, at Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility in Bolivar at the age of 93.
Pauline was born March 23, 1919, in Winner, South Dakota, to Marie Mariah Anderson and William Harry Anderson. She graduated Technical High School in 1937. She attended the University of Omaha for two years and moved to Washington, D.C. to work. She worked for the War Department/Civil Aeronautics Administration for 23 years where she met her love, Orville Watkins, who she married in 1947. Both worked for the government until 1973 when they retired and moved back to Orville's hometown of Bolivar.
Pauline was a member of the Order Of Eastern Star since 1953, receiving her 50-year pin in 2003. In Bolivar, she was an active member of the community and a long-time member of First Christian Church. She was very artistic and loved to paint.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Orville, and two sisters, Frances Anderson and Glennis Bierle.
Survivors include her sister, Harriet Smith of Corinth, Texas; brother, Bill Anderson of El Cajon, California; nieces, Lori Dean of Grand Junction, Colorado, Sharon Dix of Littleton, Colorado, Holly Anderson of Beaver Lake, Nebraska, and Linda Coker of Frisco, Texas; nephews, Walter Smith of Centennial, Colorado, and Mark Smith of Abilene, Texas; and her sister-in-law, Lena Ellis of Bolivar.
