Pearl Builderback's Obituary
Pearl Mae Builderback, daughter of Henry Richard and Lora Helen Morgan Decker, was born May 29, 1942, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, January 4, 2008, in Christian Health Care of Hermitage, Missouri, at the age of sixty-five years, seven months, and five days. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William and George Lee Decker; and a sister, Mary “Maggie” Decker. Pearl is survived by a daughter, Lisa Scalf, and her husband, Joe, of Independence, Missouri; a son, Riley Builderback, of Kansas City, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jessica McDowell, and her husband, SSG Jessie McDowell, Jami Ray, and Jackie Ripley, and her husband, Brett; five great-grandchildren, Halie, Jace, Logan, Kevin, and Kierston; three brothers, Raymond Decker, of Wheatland, Missouri, Charlie Decker, of Lebanon, Missouri, and David Decker, of Springdale, Arkansas; two sisters, Phyllis Marcum, of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, and Lola Reid, of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Lebanon community. In 1964, she moved to Lee’s Summit, Missouri, where she made her home until 1993. She then lived in Pittsburg, Missouri for several years, before moving to the Hermitage, Missouri area in 2004. Throughout her life, she was a devoted homemaker to her family. Pearl had made her profession of faith in Christ and was raised in a Pentecostal church. She was a huge fan of Elvis Presley, and one of the biggest highlights of her life was going to Branson and seeing an Elvis Presley impersonator perform. She also enjoyed playing cards in her spare time. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed all of her grandchildren. Pearl was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. Her family and friends will hold dear to the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2008, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
