Pearl Lucas (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Pearl Alice Blackburn Lucas, daughter of Alsa and Alice Mary Winfrey Blackburn, was born March 24, 1934, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Monday, January 8, 2018, in her home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three years, nine months, and fourteen days.
On August 19, 1957, she was united in marriage to Harold B. Lucas, and to this union one daughter was born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jack Blackburn; and three sisters, Alma Blackburn, Mary Anderson, and Gladys Anderson.
Pearl is survived by her husband of sixty years, Harold, of the home; a daughter, Verna Sue Sherrer, and her husband, Doug, of Lebanon, Missouri; two grandsons, Ryan Lucas Sherrer, and Josh Douglas Sherrer, both of Lebanon, Missouri; eight great-grandchildren, Hannah, Tony, Kait, Isaac, Mykayla, Kaleb, Kassidy, and Emily; several nieces and nephews; a number of special friends.
She was born and raised in the Lebanon area and attended Dry and Dusty School. After she and Harold were married, they made their home near Lebanon, and lovingly raised their daughter. Pearl was a devoted homemaker to her husband and daughter, and also worked at McDonald’s for ten years, and was a prep cook at Sonic Drive Inn. She later worked as a nurse assistant to Dr. Carmichael for awhile.
Pearl made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was a member of Crossroads Freewill Baptist Church.
In her spare time she enjoyed she enjoyed sewing, growing beautiful flowers, cooking and baking. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandsons and great-grandchildren.
Pearl was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her eighty-three years.
