Peggy J. Baker (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Mrs. Peggy Jo Baker, age 80, of Collins, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday afternoon, March 15, 2012, at her home in Collins.
Peggy was born on January 8, 1932 in Bona, Missouri, the daughter of Cletis Burr Carns and Greta Vaughn (Davis) Carns.
Peggy went to Dadeville High School. She was a faithful member of the Aldrich Methodist Church in Aldrich, Missouri. Peggy enjoyed being a part of the AMVETS Post #114 of Flemington, Missouri, and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Collins Fire Department. She was probably best known for her craftwork. Peggy was a seamstress capable of making most anything from fabric; she could weave rugs from scratch, and was well known for her wonderful quilts.
On March 25, 1989 Peggy was united in marriage to Norman Baker in Hermitage, Missouri.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Cletis and Vaughn Carns, two brothers; Kenneth Carns, and Ted Carns, two sisters; Margie Aries, and Carlene Copeland, and her grandson Jay.
Peggy is survived by her husband; Norman Baker of the home, three sons; Phillip Smith and his wife Kristen of Pueblo, Colorado, Kenny Smith and his wife Debbie of Coleman, Texas, Dennis Baker of Gladstone, Missouri, her daughter; Carla Vincel and her husband Mark of Springfield, Missouri, her sister; Carolyn Kaplan and her husband Bill of Omaha, Nebraska, eight grandchildren; Eathen Smith, Charlie Smith, Phillip Smith, Bobby, Chase Vincel, Whitney Vincel, Laura Collins, Drew Baker, and seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews that will forever miss her.
