Peggy Jo Koehn (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Peggy Jo Koehn, daughter of Alex Schneider and Verna Brock Schneider, was born January 18, 1940 in Hays, Kansas. She departed this life, November 24, 2020, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of eighty years, ten months and six days.
On June 29, 1958 in Great Bend, Kansas, she was united in marriage to Ray L. Koehn and to this union two children were born. Together they shared forty-five years of marriage
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; and a sister Alexis Nichols.
She is survived by her daughters, Debra Scott of Olathe, Kansas, and Donette Bockoven of Camdenton, Missouri; Grandchildren, Amanda Scott, Stayci Bockoven & Jerad Gwillim, Trayci Bockoven & Shawn Gephart, Jennifer Moore, Travis Bockoven & Jessica Bockoven, and Chase Harper; Great-grandchildren, Dayson Belk, Kristanna Moore, Bradley Moore, Ryder Gwillim, Jack Fahrnow IV, Talon Fahrnow, Trenton Bockoven, Avarie Gwillim, and Gabriella Bockoven. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends who will all truly miss her.
Peggy was born in Hays, Kansas and lived on a farm. Later in life then moved to Otis, Kansas through her adolescence and was a graduate of Great Bend High School where she had a chance encounter with a police officer in Great Bend Kansas. Not at first knowing that, the police officer, Ray Koehn would be the future love of her life. took place as she was driving and hit a police cruiser. Not at first knowing that the police officer in the car was the future love of her life, Ray Koehn. After wedding, the two lived in several different areas in the Midwest such as Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Missouri. Peggy and Ray enjoyed days at Pomme De Terre lake for 16 years before moving and settling in for the full-blown lake life at the Lake of the Ozarks.
Peggy made a profession of faith and attended Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church in Laurie, Missouri and was a faithful believer in Christ.
In her younger days she loved motorcycling with her husband Ray and was named “Evel Knievel” for many reasons. They were Nascar’s #1 fans. Especially rooting for Jeff Gordon, Jimmy Johnson, and Dale Earnhart Jr. She knew everyone’s business and all the gossip with ALL the drivers, even about their wives and children. As she studied, read, and watched everything there was if it had to do with Nascar. And her conversation piece while talking with most everyone she ran into was of course Nascar related. Whether you wanted to hear it or not. She also loved great food, boating, shopping, dancing, and was always the life of the party when she had the chance to be. She lived the lake life to the fullest, especially on her Sea-Doo. But mostly she loved spending time any chance she had with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They were all so loved by her.
She was a loving and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the many memories she created for her family and friends.
