Peggy Jo Smith (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Peggy Jo Smith was born August 20, 1951, in Lebanon, Missouri, and departed this life Tuesday, May 24, 2022, in her home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at that age of seventy years, nine months, and four days.
On February 15, 1974, she was united in marriage to Dennis A. Smith, and to this union two daughters and three sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Marie Smith, and her father.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Dennis, of the home, near Lebanon, Missouri; three sons, Lester Phillip Runge, of Marion, Illinois, Dennis Michael Smith, and Benjamin Paul Smith, both of Lebanon, Missouri; two daughters, Susie Irene Runge, and Peggy Jo Smith, both of Lebanon, Missouri thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jerry Lawson, of Springdale, Arkansas, Bobby Lawson, and Scotty Lawson, both of Lebanon, Missouri; three sisters, Edith Thompson, of the state of Arkansas, Edna Barber, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Linda Williams, of the State of Oregon; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She lived her entire life in the Lebanon area and completed her education. She later attended drafting school. After she and Dennis were married, they made their home near Lebanon, and lovingly raised their family. Peggy worked as a seamstress for the H. D. Lee Company and then was an assembly line worker for Marathon Electric for several years, all while being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.
Peggy attended Harvest Tabernacle Church for several years.
She liked shopping, spending time at the Lake, and was an avid reader. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was always kind, caring, and liked giving to others and making time for others. She was the glue that kept her family together.
Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she made for them during her lifetime.
A memorial has been established to Crosslines Ministry and donations may be made through the funeral home.
