Peggy Jean Truelove (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Peggy Jean Truelove was born February 3, 1930 in Competition, Missouri to Isham and Bessie Fike Chambers. She entered eternal rest on Monday, December 1, 2025 in her home in Lebanon, Missouri. She was ninety-five years, nine months and twenty-eight days of age.
Peggy was raised in Competition and graduated from Competition High School. She went on to college where she earned a teaching degree. She taught at country schools until she met Junior Webb. They fell in love, married, and started their family. Peggy then stayed home and raised their children. After Junior passed away, she went back to work for H.D. Lee in Lebanon.
In addition to Junior, she is preceded in death by her grandson, Joe Schirlls; and a granddaughter, Nancy Ricker; and great-great-grandchildren, Sage, Thyme and Clover Stuart-Wilson.
Peggy is survived by her two daughters, Terry Stout of Lebanon, Missouri and Shelley Hasty, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; four grandchildren, Candice Stout, Clinton Schirlls, Isham Stout and Ashley Farris; six great-grandchildren, Trystan Stout, Keeton Gibbs, Nathan Gibbs, Gage Stout, Mason Farris and Miranda Appleberry; and three great-great-grandchildren, Vera Gibbs, Gracie Gibbs and Rustin Farris.
Peggy was an active member of the Claxton Church of Christ for many years. In her later years, she attended Hayes Street Church of Christ. She loved God and was a faithful follower.
Peggy was very active in her daughter’s school, being a part of the PTO and served as a Girl Scout leader. She also enjoyed playing cards, taking walks, arrowhead hunting and traveling.
Throughout her life, Peggy was known for her unwavering dedication to her family, embodying the roles of a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Her home was a haven of warmth, love and laughter, where countless memories were created and treasured.
Funeral services for Peggy Jean Truelove will be Friday, December 5, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. Claxton Church of Christ, 10586 Claxton Rd., Falcon, Missouri.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 5 - 7 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. Burial will be in Claxton Cemetery.
A Memorial to Claxton Cemetery has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
