Peggy Tucker (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Frances Barbara “Peggy” Tucker, daughter of Guy and Effie Dodge Sewell, was born December 2, 1933, in New Hampton, New Hampshire. She departed this life Saturday, December 17, 2011, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years, and fifteen days.
On December 31, 1979, she was united in marriage to Frank Reuben Tucker, who passed away on November 27, 2005.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, James Corneau; an infant great-grandson, Tristan Pope; and a sister, Josie Moses.
Peggy is survived by a daughter, Nora Corneau, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Steve Whitcher, and his wife, Jacquie, of Mocksville, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Vickie Lowery, and her husband, Ron, Stephanie Pope, and her husband, Jason, Brandy Sanders, and her husband, Drew, Heather Watson, and her husband, Phillip, and Paul Corneau, and his wife, Brandy; twelve great-grandchildren, Colby, and his fiancée, Megan, Candace, Ryan, Caye, Jonathan, Bailey, Peighton, Blake, Joshua, Dakota, Tyler, and Brett; three great-great-grandchildren, Hailey, Emma, and Aiden; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in New Hampshire, and graduated from Laconia High School, in Laconia, New Hampshire, in the Class of 1951. She then lived in Tennessee for a few years, before moving to Missouri. After she and Frank were married, they made their home in various locations while he served in the military. Throughout the years, in addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Peggy also worked as a waitress, a factory employee, and had driven a school bus. Later, Peggy and Frank retired to Lebanon, Missouri.
She possessed a beautiful singing voice and loved music. She was very clever, and was a gifted story teller. She was a very independent person who was steadfast and strong, and could do almost anything. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed having late night ice cream binges with her grandchildren.
Peggy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them.
