Penny Haun (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Penny Jean Haun was born in Missouri to Wayne and Peggy Nicholas on October 15, 1947. As the oldest of their three children, she was a loving sister to Pam and Michael Nicholas. She attended school in the southwest Missouri area and later became a young mother to two children, Lisa and Robert. They lived in the Springfield area while Penny worked in an administrative position with the Boy Scouts of America offices after obtaining her GED. After marrying Albert Haun and becoming the loving stepmother to Sherry, Sheila and Barry, she had their youngest son Ryan. Penny then focused on the job of home maker and mother to them all and achieved excellence in her role for many years. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age and taught her family to love, fear and obey the Lord through leading a life exemplifying this teaching as her purpose. Penny was an active member of Bolivar Assembly of God church, their Women’s Ministry group and various local outreach ministry programs. She is preceded in death by her father (Wayne), mother (Peggy), and husband (Albert). She is survived by her loving stepfather (Eugene), sisters (Pam Claspill and Florentine Cobb), brother (Michael), children (Lisa, Robert, Sherry, Sheila, Barry and Ryan), as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar MO July 26th at 1 p.m. with a memorial service at 2 p.m. and graveside services immediately thereafter.
