Perry Drake (Seymour)'s Obituary
Perry Eugene Drake, son of Melvin and Lucille Drake was born March 17, 1940 in Kansas City, Kansas. On Wednesday, July 11, 2012 he departed this world in Cox Health Hospital South, Springfield, Missouri at the age of seventy-two years, three months and eight days.
After graduating from high school, Perry moved to California where he met and married Lois Marie Long and together they lovingly raised their family. He faithfully served his country in the United States Marines and after his honorable discharge he went to work for General Dynamics as a tool and die maker. Perry was blessed with a talent to create with his hands and often made model airplanes and cars. He enjoyed flying his models with his children. He also served his community as a member of the Lions Club in California. Perry moved to Seymour in the mid 90’s to make his home.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Lois; and his daughter Leia Valenzuela.
Perry is survived by his children, Debbie Drake, Susie Drake, Ricky Drake and Scott Drake, all of the state of California; his step-children, Damon Johnson of Seymour, Missouri, Retha Medley of Rancho Cucamonga, California, J.B. Johnson of Seymour, Missouri, and Wilma Davis of Hemet, California; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his two sisters, Linda and Mary.
Perry was a caring father, grandfather, brother and uncle. We celebrate his life and
accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and friends.
