Peter F. Mosca (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Dr. Peter (Pete) Mosca said goodbye, until we are together again, on August 15th, 2024, while on vacation in Costa Rica. He was surrounded by his family, whom he deeply loved and who loved him in return.
Pete was born on Sunday, June 29, 1947, in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated from John Glenn High School, Huntington, Long Island, NY. After graduation he headed west to the University of Oklahoma on a wrestling scholarship. Pete had placed 4th in the State of New York in his weight class. He completed with a Doctor of Pharmacy and practiced in a hospital setting. After a chance visit to surgery with a friend who was an anesthesiologist, Pete found a new calling. He received his degree as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. It was in Springfield in the intensive care unit at Cox Hospital North where Pete met the love his life, Cindy, who was a registered nurse in the Intensive Care Unit. Pete worked at many hospitals throughout Missouri and Kansas, but his heart was always with his home at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar. The lifetime friends he had there were more like family to him.
Pete was an avid boater and pilot. In his younger days, if he or Cindy weren’t working, they would be at the lake on their houseboat. In the late 90’s he discovered his passion for flying. He obtained his private pilot license in 1998. Pete was past President of the local EAA and was very proud of the club they formed. He loved going to Osh Kosh with his family and to meet up with his friends. Pete absolutely loved life, he always had a smile on his face, and love in his heart.
Pete treasured his family tradition of Sunday family dinners. He would always make extra because there was always going be at least one extra guest. He made it a priority of taking his whole family on a big family vacation every year, he wanted to show his kids the world and he did.
Pete married the love of his life, and best friend, Cindy. He always told her that no amount of time with her would be enough. He always said one lifetime together would not be enough, but they were very thankful for their lifetime together. Pete and Cindy had one daughter, Casie, who was his pride and joy, and he loved her very much. His face would always light up when he would talk about her. Casie’s husband, Jason, his son-in-law, was never just a son-in-law, Jason was a son to Pete. Pete has four grandsons that he adored: Tanner, Kaden, Ty and Kooper. He had a special bond with each of them, whether that be flying through the air, boating on the lake, or fishing in the Mississippi. His family meant the world to him, and they were his everything. The love was so returned. One year his grandsons gave him a jewelry box and engraved on the top was “To the world you’re just one person, but to us you are the world”. No truer words could have been etched into that box.
Pete leaves behind his wife and best friend, Cindy, his daughter, Casie (Jason) Isenberger, his four grandsons, Tanner, Kaden, Ty and Kooper Isenberger. His sister, Patricia, Mosca-Marsh of Bolivar. His brother, Dr. Phillip (Elaine) Mosca of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, his beloved nephews and nieces and their families.
Preceded in death by his parents Carmen and the honorable Pasquale Mosca. Pete was a shining light in this world and will be greatly missed.
