My wife and I were so sorry to hear of your tragic loss. Death is always painful because it's an "enemy" as the Bible says. (1 Co. 15:26) Thankfully the scriptures also show that God promises to end death forever on earth. At that time we can look forward to seeing Peyton again. In the meantime, our hearts still ache but by relying on "the God of all comfort" we will be able to endure until the happy reunion. (2 Co. 1:2-4)
