Phil Goldsberry (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Mr. Philbert "Phil" Leroy Goldsberry, age 97, of Bolivar, Missouri passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at his granddaughters home in Halfway, Missouri.
He was born May 21, 1915 in Kiowa, Kansas, the son of Louis Melvin Goldsberry and Serena Blanche (Anderson) Goldsberry.
He served in the United States Air Force during World War II.
Phil married Dorothy "Dottie" Lynch in 1956. They married and returned to Bolivar, the place of his birth, to enjoy farming and a lifetime with family and friends.
Phil was a truck driver working heavy equipment most of his life. He was a retired board member/sexton and past officer of the New Bethel Cemetery Association in Halfway, Missouri. He was also a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association and member of the Teamsters Union Local #245.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dottie, one daughter, Sharon Gale Goldsberry, one great granddaughter, Cyanne Woodford, four sisters, Naomi “Sis”, Ruth, Betty, Dorothy, and four brothers, Howard, Paul, Bobby and David.
Phil is survived by his daughter, Jessie K. Reese of Costa Mesa, California, one sister, Freda Day of Springfield, Missourigranddaughters, Anna Marie Fantozzi of Costa Mesa, California, Dora Lynn Aggson of Costa Mesa, California, Ron Deserrier (Mutz) of Chino Valley, Arizona, Julie Russell of Halfway, Missouri, Lisa Kendigian of Las Vegas, Nevada, great grandchildren, Thomas Aggson, Joanne and Becky Fonozzi, Jeff Deserrier and Ryan Woodford, Daniel and Braden Russell, Alex Perry and Nicholas Kendigian, and great great granddaughters, Kylie Miller, Arianna and Aiden Ussery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Children’s Miracle Network, American Cancer Society or to the National Rifle Association.
