Phillip A. Burns (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Phillip Alexander Burns, son of Oliver and Nancy Atkins Burns, was born March 24, 1950, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Wednesday, April 6, 2022, in Missouri Baptist Medical Center, in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of seventy-two years, and thirteen days.
On June 28, 1997, he was united in marriage to Rebecca J. Carvel, and they shared the last twenty-four years of happiness and memories.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, James and Claude Burns.
Phillip is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca, of their home, near Lebanon, Missouri; two daughters, Nancy Burns and Alexandra Burns, both of Lebanon, Missouri; two sons, Steven Everett, and Charles Everett, and his wife, Zoey, all of Lebanon, Missouri; five grandchildren, Serenity, Harmony, Milo, Tegan, and Colton; two brothers, John Paul Burns, and his wife, Charlena, of Mound City, Kansas, and Eugene Burns, and his wife, Linda, of Belton, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Barbara Burns, of Kansas City, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Lebanon area and graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1969. He worked for the H. D. Lee Company for sixteen years, then as a security guard for McDonald’s and Taco Bell, and then for Marathon Electric for several years. He and Rebecca made their home near Lebanon and lovingly raised their family.
Phillip made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Community Baptist Church.
He enjoyed mowing his yard, loved going to the races, and car shows and liked playing cards. He had a love for children and especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Phillip was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
A memorial has been established and donations made be made through the funeral home.
