Phillip Taylor's Obituary
Phillip Allen Taylor, son of Walter Edgar Taylor, Jr. and Sidney Pearl McGinty Taylor, was born December 20, 1966, in Gainesville, Florida, and departed this September 10, 2010, in Douglas County, Missouri, at the age of forty-three years, eight months and twenty days. He was married to Melina Cooley and one daughter, Shelbie, was born to this union. He also has three other children. He was preceded in death by his parents. Phillip is survived by his children, Shelbie Taylor, of Springfield, Missouri, Tabby Taylor, Tiffany Taylor and Phillip Taylor, Jr. all of the State of Arkansas; a step-daughter, Ashley Collins of Springfield, Missouri; his former wife, Melina Taylor of Springfield, Missouri; four brothers, William Taylor of Lake City, Florida, Walter E. Taylor, Richard Taylor and Charles Taylor; a sister, Janice Crawford, all of Starke, Florida; nieces and nephews, James Taylor, Brittany Moore, Breanna Taylor, Everett & Steven Varnes and Dallas Crawford, as well as a host of relatives and friends. Phillip was born in Gainesville and raised in Starke before moving to Missouri in 1993. He considered Missouri his home even though he lived in Florida for many years. He was a mechanic and worked several years for Marvin Elliott. He loved his family dearly and his life was centered around Shelbie and Melina. In his spare time he loved deer hunting, fishing and cars. Phillip was a loving father, brother, and uncle, and a caring neighbor and friend. Although his life ended tragically, we will always remember the good times we had with him.
