Philomena Behren's Obituary
Philomena “Mimi” Von Behren, 84, of Mansfield went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on April 5, 2011 in St. Johns Hospital after a short illness. Mimi was born on October 23, 1926 in Vohburg, Germany to Anna Gruber. She immigrated to the United States in 1954 after she met her future husband, Carl, while he was stationed in Germany. Carl H. Von Behren and Mimi were united in marriage on January 25, 1955. From this union two children were born, a son Jim of Springfield and a daughter Michele of Mansfield. Mimi was a very kind, gentle lady who never had a complaint about the life the Lord had given her. She was a loving wife, Mother, and Grandmother whose love will be sorely missed by her family and friends. In her spare time, Mimi enjoyed reading, cooking big meals, gatherings with neighbors, sitting on the front deck watching the cows eat the fresh spring grass, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, and one brother. She is survived by her two children, Jim Von Behren and his wife Becky of Springfield, and Michele Clayton and her husband Doug of Mansfield; four loving grandchildren, Cody Clayton, Joshua Von Behren, Sydney Von Behren, and Jackson Von Behren; a sister, Fanny Vogl of Vohburg, Germany; a brother, Reinhold Nitsch of Munich, Germany; and several nieces and nephews.
