She was born in Missouri and was raised in various locations. Through her teen years, she did babysitting in her spare time. Once she graduated from high school, she went to beauty school in Springfield, Missouri, and became a licensed cosmetologist. Later, she went to nursing school at Fort Leonard Wood and became a Registered Nurse. After she and Lloyd were married, they made their home near Lebanon, Missouri, and lovingly raised their melded family. Phyllis was a devoted homemaker to her husband and children, and also worked as a Registered Nurse at Fort Leonard Wood Army Hospital for several years. She later owned and operated Lebanon Nursing Home for a number of years.
Phyllis made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was an active member of Community Baptist Church. She served on the hospitality board, helped with the Overcomers Program, and was part of the Soul Winners group. Her faith was very important to her and she centered her life around her church and her family.
She enjoyed going to yard sales and liked spending time with her family. She was a very giving person who enjoyed doing things for others. She dearly loved her husband and was very close to her sons, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
A memorial has been established to Community Baptist Church, Overcomers, and may be left at the funeral home.
