He departed this life Friday, May 26, 2006, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-nine years, two months, and nineteen days. On September 12, 1959, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Elaine Daniel, and to this union one daughter and one son were born. His parents, and two sisters, Elaine Harold and Adelaide Carlson, preceded him in death. Frank, as he was called by his family and friends, is survived by his loving wife of forty-six years, Phyllis, of the home; a son, Steven Dombrowski, of Kingston, Illinois; a daughter, Dana Dombrowski, of Sycamore, Illinois; two grandchildren, Brandon and Samantha Dombrowski; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born in Sycamore, Illinois and was raised in Kingston, Illinois, where he graduated from high school. He began operating the family grain farm while in his teenage years, and continued in that endeavor for many years. After he and Phyllis were married, they made their home on the farm in the Kingston community, and lovingly raised their family. Frank also worked as a manufacturing engineer for General Electric for many years. Later, they moved to Lebanon, Missouri, where Frank worked for Marathon Electric for several years. Frank followed the Catholic faith throughout his life and attended St. Catherine of Genoa Catholic Church. He served on the Genoa/Kingston School Board for eight years, and also on the Village of Kingston City Council. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Opportunity House for the handicapped for several years. He had a great interest in children and had worked in the 4-H Program and with the Future Farmer’s of America. In his spare time he enjoyed horseback riding, and fixing and restoring antique tractors. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends.
