Phyllis Fritts' Obituary
Phyllis Marie Fritts, daughter of Hubert and Alice Loveless Rice, was born February 22, 1942, in Troy, Montana. She departed this life Tuesday,July 25, 2006, from injuries received in an automobile accident near Marshfield, in Webster County, Missouri, at the age of sixty-four years, five months, and three days. Her parents, and a sister, Diane Rice, preceded her in death. Phyllis is survived by a daughter, Ronda K. Smith, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Craig A. Fritts, and his wife, Dianna, of Lebanon, Missouri; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tim Rice, of the State of Idaho, and Roger Rice, of Joplin, Missouri; a sister, Marvel Summers, of the State of Washington; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born in Montana and was raised in Idaho, where she graduated from high school. She then made her home in the Waynesville, Missouri area until moving to Lebanon in 1973. In addition to being a devoted homemaker and a loving mother to her children, Phyllis worked at the H. D. Lee Company for a few years, and then was a cook and N.C.O. Club worker at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. She later worked for the Copeland Corporation until retiring. She continued to stay busy and did babysitting in her home for the last few years. Phyllis was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints in Lebanon. In her spare time she enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, and cooking. She was very interested in genealogy and liked tracing her family history. Her family was very important to her and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Her dog, Buster, was also very special to her. Phyllis was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments, and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2006, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints, Lebanon. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
