Porter P.F. Rhoades' Obituary
orter Franklion “P.F.” Rhoades, son of Robert B. and Pearl Rhoades, was born October 25, 1924, in Guy, Arkansas. He departed this life Saturday, April 19, 2008, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three years, five months, and twenty-four days. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three half-sisters, Lorene Swedtey, Lola Simpson, and Mae Quattlebaum. P.F. is survived by two sons, Robert Rhoades, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Jim Rhoades, and his wife, Bonnie, of Sparta, Illinois; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Oliver Eugene Rhoades, of Quinlan, Texas; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised on a farm in the Guy, Arkansas area. He then made his home in St. Louis, Missouri before moving to Conway, Missouri. For a short time he lived in Dallas, Texas, but soon returned to Conway. Throughout his life he worked as a welder and also enjoyed doing mechanic work. P.F. had made his profession of belief in Christ and followed the Christian faith. In his spare time he liked being outdoors where he enjoyed deer hunting. He always spoke his mind and lived his life in his own unique way. P.F. was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2008, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be made through the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
