Presley Duane Myers (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Presley Duane Myers, son of Arley Mack and Bertha L. Wilson Myers, was born July 9, 1955, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, May 8, 2010, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of fifty-four years, eleven months, and twenty-nine days.
On November 3, 1972, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Lee Huntington, and to this union two daughters were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Larry Myers.
Presley is survived by his wife, Cynthia, of the home; two daughters, Christina Lynn Lane, and her husband, Melvin, and Candy Marie Hering, and her husband, Carl, all of Lebanon, Missouri; five grandchildren, Veda, Cindy, Raymond, Shane, and Kaylee; a great-granddaughter, Madelyn; three brothers, Macky Myers, of China, Jerry R. Myers, of Odessa, Missouri, and Gary C. Myers, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sisters, Lecia Lane, of Eldridge, Missouri, and Teresa M. Titus, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area, and graduated from Waynesville High School. He entered the United States Army in 1974, and faithfully served his country in Germany until being honorably discharged in 1979. He then returned to Lebanon, where he and Cynthia made their home and lovingly raised their daughters. Presley worked for Marathon Electric, which later became Regal Beloit, for a number of years.
Presley had professed his faith in Christ and was a member of Garfield Avenue Church of God in Lebanon. He had a deep concern for others and was always willing to help those in need.
In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were hunting, fishing, and caring for his yard. He also liked cook outs and particularly family gatherings. He was very dedicated to his family and friends, and especially enjoyed his daughters and grandchildren.
Presley was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He lived his life trying to follow the motto: “The best way to have a good friend is to be a good friend.”
