Pricilla Ann Claren (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Priscilla Ann Claren, 72, of Humansville, Missouri, passed away on July 3, 2023, at Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility in Bolivar, Missouri, surrounded by family.
Priscilla was born September 26, 1950, in San Diego, CA to parents William and True Garrett. She grew up in southern California along with her brother, Patrick, and many close cousins.
As a young adult, Priscilla moved to California’s Sierra Nevada mountains, where she worked as a bookkeeper in Sequoia National Park and met her husband, William (Bill) West. Priscilla and Bill resided in Three Rivers, CA, briefly opening a bakery there, prior to his sudden death after a short illness in 1987. Priscilla met and married Thomas (Tom) Claren (divorced 2000) in 1988. They moved to Urbana, Missouri and had one daughter, Kaitlin, before moving to Humansville, where Priscilla would reside for 33 years in her beloved home with serene views of the countryside.
Priscilla was hard working, caring, and a wonderful mother. She held several occupations, but she particularly enjoyed working in a daycare when her daughter was young and later caring for the elderly and disabled. She became semi-retired in 2020 and then fully retired in 2021 after she became ill with a rapidly progressive dementia. She was active in her Christian faith and attended several churches over the years. She loved animals and cared for birds, horses, dogs, cats, farm animals, and anything else that strayed across her path. Priscilla passed away from the progression of her illness. She is survived by daughter Kaitlin (partner Aaron).
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 15, at 10:00 AM at Dimmitt Memorial Park in Humansville, Missouri located at the pavilion.
