R. J. Serls, Jr. (Bolivar)'s Obituary
R.J. Serls, Jr., age 73 of Bolivar, Missouri departed this life on Saturday morning, March 16, 2013 at Parkview Healthcare Facility in Bolivar with the love of his family around him.
R.J. was born on December 23, 1939 in Van, Missouri the son of Ralph J. Serls, Sr. and Lina June (Harris) Serls.
He served in the United States Marines after graduating from Bolivar High School. Later he worked as a Route Salesman for Foremost Dairies, most recently working for Medley Appraisal. R.J. loved the outdoors; he enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. He was a member of the Bolivar Golf Club.
On July 14, 1967 R.J. and Judy were united in marriage at the First Christian Church in Bolivar. To this union was born two daughters; Beth and Amy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Lina, his brother; Charles Serls, and a brother-in-law; Gene Taylor.
R.J. is survived by his wife; Judy, daughters; Beth Francka and her husband Tim of Bolivar, Amy Thompson and her husband Brian of Bolivar, three sisters; Neta Jenkins of Bolivar, Johnnie Bays of Bolivar, and Connie Good of Pleasant Hill, his sister-in-law; Cindy Taylor of Clarksville, Tennessee, four grandchildren; Samantha Francka of Springfield, Missouri, Tabitha Francka, Alyson Thompson and Jaxon Thompson all of Bolivar.
