Ralph Ed Wilkin's Obituary
Ralph Edward “Ed” Wilkin, son of Ralph Jacob and Frances Elizabeth Beals Wilkin, was born February 16, 1934, in Toledo, Illinois. He departed this life Wednesday, August 16, 2006, in University Hospital, in Columbia, Missouri, at the age of seventy-two years and six months. On February 7, 1953, in Hammond, Indiana, he was united in marriage to Rose Mary Stefanski, and to this union two sons and two daughters were born. He was preceded in death by his father and a step-brother L.D. Cross. Ed is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Rose Mary; his children, Ralph Wilkin and his wife, Wendee, of El Paso, Arkansas, Joe Wilkin and his wife, Katherine, of Brumley, Missouri, Bobbie Evans and her husband, Mark, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Becky Stonecipher and her husband, Bill, of Lebanon, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; his mother, Frances Cross of Lebanon, Missouri; a half-sister, Blanche Shoot of Greenup, Illinois, and two step-brothers, Charlie and Jack Cross, both of Camdenton, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was raised in Hammond, Indiana, and went to school there. After his marriage, he and Rose Mary moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, and later moved to Montreal, Missouri, where they raised their children. Ed worked as an automobile mechanic for many years and later began a career at Dam Ready Mix, which later became Lake Ozark Construction. In his spare time, Ed enjoyed working on cars and drinking coffee. His favorite past-time was spending time with his family and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ed was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, and brother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments, and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 19, 2006, in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be in Allee Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri. Memorial donations to the Alzheimers Association may be made through the funeral home.
