Ralph Juergensen's Obituary
Ralph Edward Juergensen, son of Edward A. and Myrtle Marie Nye Juergensen, was born July 8, 1930, in Davenport, Iowa. He departed this life Tuesday, April 5, 2011, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty years, eight months, and twenty-seven days. On February 18, 1951, he was united in marriage to Anna Marie Nissen, and to this union two daughters and one son were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna, on August 1, 2004; and two sisters, Eleanor Edwards, and Julia Juergensen. Ralph is survived by two daughters, Cathy Johnson, and her husband, Randy W., and Lori Hunt, and her husband, Donald, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Michael Juergensen, and his wife, Sharon, of Lebanon, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Jennifer and Bobby, Christopher and Ashley, Jennifer and Shane, Amber and Aaron, Tawna and Andrea, Tony, Brittni, Michael, Brandy, and Michael; thirteen great-grandchildren, Tyler, Crystalyn, Brecken, Cage, Aidyn, Kamora, Peyton, Emily, Kayson, Elizabeth, McKayla, Michel, and Robert; a sister, Betty Lou Stearns, of Davenport, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in the Davenport, Iowa area, and then entered the United States Army in 1951. He served in the Korean War, and was honorably discharged in 1953. He returned to Iowa where he worked for the Rock Island Arsenal and at a service station before becoming a milk route salesman. In 1958, the family moved to California, where Ralph and Anna continued to raise their children. Ralph worked for the Harvey Aluminum Company for several years, and then was a quality engineer for Autonetics, Incorporated for a number of years. In 1994, Ralph and Anna moved to Lebanon, Missouri, to enjoy their retirement years. Ralph was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lebanon, where he served as an Elder. In his spare time he enjoyed doing woodworking projects and caring for his home and yard. He also liked going to the floating casinos, and spending quality time with his family. He loved his family dearly and especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ralph was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and will remember him as a devoted family man, a dedicated worker, a patriotic citizen, and a good friend.
