Ralph L. Trask's Obituary
Ralph Lane Trask, son of Fred Almora and Jessie Gladys (Frazier) Trask, was born August 8, 1919, in Lockport, Illinois. He departed this life Thursday, January 25, 2007, in North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi, at the age of eighty-seven years, five months, and seventeen days. Early in his life he was united in marriage to Doris Welch on July 1, 1940. They shared fifty-four years together. To this union, three sons and a daughter were born. She preceded him in death on October 9, 1994. On September 12, 1998, he married Helen Kelley, and together they shared the last eight years. She preceded him in death on January 8, 2007. His parents also preceded him in death. Ralph is survived by his children Frank and his wife Pamela Trask of Salitto, Mississippi; Linda Trask of Greenwood Village, Colorado, James and his wife Linda Trask of Eldridge, Iowa; Jerry and his wife Darlene Trask of Montreal, Missouri; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, a sister, Elda Rowley of Lockport, Illinois; a niece, Joann Reeves of Lockport, Illinois; a sister-in-law, Chella Fox of Lockport, Illinois as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. He was raised in Lockport, Illinois and graduated from Lockport High School in 1937. Later, he met Doris and they were married in 1940. They made their home in East Moline, Illinois, where he worked as tool designer for the International Harvester Company. Ralph proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps from 1944 to 1946. After his discharge from the Army, he went back to work for International Harvester until his retirement in 1974. Ralph and Doris then moved to Camdenton, Missouri where they lived until her death in 1994. In 1998, Ralph met Helen Kelley and they were married later that same year. They made their home in Camdenton until her death in 2007. Ralph was a member of Harper Chapel United Methodist Church in Osage Beach, Missouri. He belonged to the American Legion and the Camdenton Senior Center. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking and cutting and polishing rocks and stones which he made bolo ties with. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ralph was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories he created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 29, 2007, in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be in the Dale-Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5 - 7:00 p.m. under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri. Memorials to the Camden County Historical Society Museum may be made through the funeral home.
