Ralph Mace's Obituary
Ralph Vernon Mace, son of Jesse Kornelius and Ida Mae Watson Mace, was born April 24, 1929 in Kinsley County, Kansas. He departed this life Sunday, November 2, 2008 at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, Missouri at the age of seventy-nine years, six months, and nine days.
On February 13, 1947, Ralph was united in marriage to Dottie Ruth McMillen and together they have shared the past sixty-one years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Connie; two brothers, Elbert and Perry; and two sisters, Edna and Wilma.
He is survived by his loving wife Dottie Ruth of the home; three sons, Gene Mace and his wife Roxie of Seymour, Missouri, Larry Mace and his wife Robin and John Mace and his wife Rhonda, all of Grovespring, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Ralph spent his childhood in Kansas, and after he and Dottie Ruth were married, they made their home in the Grovespring area where they lovingly raised their family.
He was of the Pentecostal faith and attended Sunshine Pentecostal Church until his health began to fail.
Ralph worked hard all of his life, working as a farmer, woodcutter, store owner and a press operator at Laclede Metal.
He loved to play his guitar and sang at many Revivals throughout the area. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
Ralph was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He was a kind hearted man who loved everyone he met and was loved by those who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
Services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 5, 2008, in Sunshine Pentecostal Church, in Hartville, Missouri with burial in Davis No. 2 Cemetery, in Grovespring, Missouri, under direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home, of Hartville. Visitation will be 12:00-1:00 p.m. in the church. A memorial has been established and may be made through Holman-Howe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hartville, Missouri 65667.
