Ralph Neasby's Obituary
Ralph Lee Neasby, son of Arvil and Grace Coonce Neasby, was born November 20, 1927, near Phillipsburg, Missouri. He departed this life Wednesday, October 5, 2011, in the Missouri Veterans Home in Mount Vernon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three years, ten months, and fifteen days.
On October 5, 1951, he was united in marriage to Wilma Faye Hightower, and to this union one daughter and two sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ray and Don Neasby; and three sisters, Leitha Moore, Pauline Sharp, and Faith Holiday.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Faye, of the home; two sons, Rod Neasby, of Kansas City, Missouri, and Randy Neasby, of Lebanon, Missouri; a daughter, Carol Sapp, and her husband, Dr. Wendell, of St. Louis, Missouri; four grandchildren, Andrea, Jason, Kacy, and Carter; three great-grandchildren, Paul, Joseph, and Christopher; two brothers, Leonard Neasby, and his wife, Shirley, of Phillipsburg, Missouri, Ward Neasby, and his wife, Mary Ann, of Springfield, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Phillipsburg community, and graduated from Phillipsburg High School. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army from April 19, 1946, until May 1, 1947, during World War II. In 1953, he and Faye made their home in the Kansas City, Missouri area, and lovingly raised their family. For over thirty years, Ralph worked as a sheet metal mechanic for TWA Airlines. In 2008, Ralph and Faye moved to the Lebanon, Missouri area and made their retirement home.
Ralph attended the First Baptist Church of Lebanon, Missouri.
In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were hunting, fishing, and gardening. He also liked sports of all kinds. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ralph was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be remembered as a devoted family man, a dedicated worker, a patriotic citizen, and a good friend.
