Ralph S. Flageolle's Obituary
Ralph Sylvester Flageolle, son of Alvie Charles and Cecelia Emma Balanga Flageolle, was born March 30, 1931, in Vona, Colorado. He departed this life Wednesday, November 22, 2006, in his home, near Mountain Grove, Missouri, at the age of seventy-five years, seven months, and twenty-two days. On November 17, 1952, he was united in marriage to Doris Irene Gruber Herman, and to this union six daughters and one son were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Joy Flageolle; two grandsons, Rickie Forrest and Michael Flageolle; a brother, Gilbert Flageolle; a sister, Olive Flageolle; and his grandson, Wayco Yarber’s fiancee, Normita. Ralph is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Doris, of the home; his children, Lois Wheat, of Drury, Missouri, Janice Dibben, and her husband, Bob, of Rogersville, Missouri, Regina Heathcock, of Arcola, Illinois, June Forrest, and her husband, Rick, of Norwood, Missouri, Stan Flageolle, and his wife, Barb, and Kim Homer, and her husband, David, all of Mountain Grove, Missouri; his grandchildren, Jennifer Alexander, and her husband, Alex, Joseph Yarber, and his wife, Susan, Wayco Yarber, Carrie Guilliams, and her husband, Jaime, April Hansen, and her husband, Jeff, Ryan Sloan, Travis Dibben and Sara Anderson, Tyler Dibben, Belinda Morgan, and her husband, Mike, Amy Beushausen, Miranda Hooker, and her husband, John, Shane Forrest, and his wife, Sarah, Christina Johnson and Matt Shannon, Luke Flageolle, and his wife, Amy, Jake Flageolle, Davy Homer, and his wife, Marlena, Rachel Amos, and her husband, Jason, Dustin Homer, and Shelby Homer, and a special nephew that was like a grandson to Ralph, Rick Flageolle, and his wife, JoAnna; his great-grandchildren, Madison and Blake Alexander, Keegan McGowan, Aiden Hansen, Caleb and Dillon Dibben, Dakota and Wyatt Morgan, Dillon and Leah Hooker, Brandt Livingston, Andrew Hooker, Justyce Flageolle, Skyler and Dyson Homer, Alexis and Bailee Amos and Tiffany Mattox; a brother, Joe Flageolle, and his wife Anita; five sisters, Mary Ridgeway, and her husband, Rusty, Margie Gray, Lillian Garcia, and her husband, Joe, Teresa Ryan, and her husband, Danny, and Esther Cain; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born in Vona, Colorado, and was raised in Stratton, Colorado, where he attended catholic school and worked with his father. He then moved to Denver, Colorado where he worked building fences for several years. In 1966, he and Doris moved their family to Mountain Grove, Missouri, where Ralph farmed a few years before starting his own excavation business. Ralph was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mountain Grove, since 1966. Ralph’s first love was his family, and he loved spending time with them fishing, playing cards, riding horses, drag racing with his son and sons-in-law, going to the lake, and playing his guitar with his cousin, Don Flageolle. Ralph was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2006, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Mountain Grove, Missouri. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Hartville, Missouri.
