Ralph Paul Satterfield (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Ralph Paul Satterfield, age 88, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by several of his cherished family members. Born on December 9, 1936, in Middletown, Connecticut, to Aaron Satterfield and Pauline Deppe Satterfield, Ralph lived a life grounded in service, strength, and unwavering love for those around him.
At just 17, Ralph began what would become a lifelong commitment to duty and service by joining the United States Air Force. For 20 years, through the Vietnam conflict, he served his country with honor and pride. The Air Force gave Ralph the gift of lifelong friendships, along with countless adventures, which he was always happy to recount for friends and family as the years passed.
After retiring from the military in 1974, Ralph settled in Buffalo, Missouri, where he planted new roots and began a second chapter full of opportunity. He ran several small businesses and became a familiar, respected figure in the community—always ready with a handshake, a story, a beer, or a helping hand.
To his family, Ralph was a steady and loving presence—a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He took great pride in watching his children and grandchildren grow, cheering them on in life’s milestones, always quick with a smile, advice, or a dry-witted remark that would catch you off guard and make you laugh.
Ralph was also a loyal friend to many. He had an easy way of making people feel welcome and included, and he genuinely loved a good time. His sense of humor, sharp wit, and warm laugh left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda, who stood by his side in love and partnership. He leaves behind three children: Sheri Noble (Ed) of Nokomis, Florida; Randy Satterfield (Jane) of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Scott Satterfield (Laura) of Clifton, Virginia. He also embraced his role as stepfather to Jennifer Forshee (Dwain) of Wappapello, Missouri, and Cathy Tuck (Sam) of Willow Springs, Missouri—loving them as his own.
Ralph’s legacy continues in his grandchildren: Ryan Flores of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Kristin Flores Fanuzzi (Michael) of San Antonio, Texas, Andrew Satterfield (Madison) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Alivia Felin of Springfield, Missouri, William Satterfield of Charlotte, North Carolina, Caitlynn Shelton (Bailey) of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Justin Tuck of Enterprise, Alabama — as well as his great-grandchildren: Collin Blevins of Denver, Colorado, Isaiah Edenfield of Kodiak, Alaska, Gianna and Sienna Fanuzzi of San Antonio, Texas, Brinley and Maeven Shelton of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and James Satterfield, of Charlotte, North Carolina. Each one of them carries a piece of Ralph’s strength, humor, and heart.
He is also survived by his siblings, Cliff Reiser, Sandra Reiser Richbourg, and Gary Reiser.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Keith Satterfield; and Colleen Cafiero, the mother of his three children.
The legacy Ralph leaves is a pillar of inspiration for his loved ones. He will be remembered not only for his incredible service and work ethic, but also for his loving heart, loyal friendship, and love of laughter and good company. His stories, his presence, and his love will live on in all those fortunate enough to know him.
There will be a memorial service for Ralph on May 3, 2025 at 2:00 pm in Buffalo, Missouri. Maple Lawn Cemetery 303 N Maple St, Buffalo, MO 65622
