Rand Allen Franklin's Obituary
Rand Allen Franklin, Sr., son of Charles Kenneth and Norma Brockfeld Franklin, was born September 11, 1952, in St. Louis, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, September 30, 2007, near Bennett Spring, Missouri, at the age of fifty-five years and nineteen days. His father preceded him in death. Rand is survived by a son, Rand Allen Franklin, Jr., and his wife, Christie, of Dacula, Georgia; two grandchildren, Callie and Rand, III; his mother, Norma Franklin, of Kimberling City, Missouri; a sister, Dianne Loewe, and her husband, Mike, of Kimberling City, Missouri; a special friend, Linda McElroy, of Loganville, Georgia; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in the St. Louis area and while attending high school, he was captain of the golf team. He moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1984, and worked for the Kuppenheimer Clothing Corporation for the next ten years. He then owned and managed his own clothing warehouse for several years. During this time he would winter in the Florida Keys and work during the summer. For a few years, he owned and operated the Creel Store and RV Park near Bennett Spring, Missouri. Rand was raised and confirmed in the Lutheran church. While living and visiting in the Lebanon area, he had attended Trinity Lutheran Church. In his spare time he enjoyed playing golf, and loved coming to Bennett Spring to go trout fishing several times a year. Bennett Spring was always one of his favorite places, as his parents would bring him there and teach him to fly fish. He possessed a delightful sense of humor and enjoyed laughing. He was a good son and lovingly cared for his mother for the last several years. Rand was a loving father, grandfather, son, and brother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends. Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Visitation will follow the service. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
