Randall Barnes (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Randall Lynn “Randy” Barnes, age 58, of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away early Friday morning, January 18, 2013 at the Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri.
Randy was born on August 11, 1954 in Urbana, Missouri, the son of Grimes Elno Barnes and Almetia J. (Simmons) Barnes. He spent all of his younger life in Smithville, Missouri, lived in Alaska for several years, and then moved back to the family farm near Polk, Missouri for the remainder of his life.
Randy was a heavy equipment operator for several years and loved doing his job until he started having health issues. Randy’s hobbies always involved the outdoors. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Smithville, Missouri.
Randy is preceded in death by his father; Grimes Barnes, and his grandparents; Dee and Jewell Barnes.
He is survived by his mother; Almetia Barnes of Bolivar, Missouri, two sons; Kelly Barnes of the home, Bruce Barnes of Mesa, Arizona, step-daughter; Angela Bryant of Mesa, Arizona, granddaughter; Amyia Works of Mesa, Arizona, brother; Richard Barnes of Stewartsville, Missouri, two sisters; Terri Moore of Kansas City, Missouri, Melanie Craven of California City, California, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family service to celebrate Randy’s life will be held at a later time.
