Randy Eli Wells, son of Randy Evans and Jodi Johnston Wells, was born September 16, 2012, in Osage Beach, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, May 10, 2014, in the University of Missouri Children’s Hospital, in Columbia, Missouri, at the age of one year, seven months, and twenty-four days.
Eli is survived by his parents, Evan and Jodi Wells, of the home; two sisters, Hanah Wells, and Rilee Wells, both of the home; a brother, Mason Wells, of the home; his maternal grandparents, Rayborn and Nita Johnston, of Stoutland, Missouri; his paternal grandparents, Randy and Terry Wells, of Crocker, Missouri; his maternal great-grandmother, Elise Johnston, of Stoutland, Missouri; his paternal great-grandmother, Naomi Ash, of Brumley, Missouri; an uncle and aunt, Jason and Beckie Wells, of Crocker, Missouri; a number of great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He lived his entire life in the Stoutland community. He was a tough little guy full of persistence and independence. He loved animals, especially pigs, chasing cats, and liked watching the birds. He enjoyed playing baseball and particularly swinging the bat. He always had a smile and a sparkle in his eyes. He was very expressive even though he couldn’t talk, and liked listening to the radio. One of his most favorite things to do was run around barefoot.
Eli was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, and cousin, and was making new friends. Even though his time on earth was cut very short, he had touched the hearts of many. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
A memorial has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
