Randy Johnson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Randy Leland Johnson, son of Donald L. and Betty Phipps Johnson, was born December 11, 1956, in Mesa, Arizona. He departed this life Friday, April 27, 2012, in Christian Health Care North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of fifty-five years, four months, and sixteen days.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and a brother, David Lin Johnson.
Randy is survived by his parents, Donald and Betty Johnson, of Phillipsburg, Missouri; four sisters, Linda Flores, and her husband, Mike, of Conway, Missouri, Kathy Johnson, of Buckeye, Arizona, Anna Poundstone, and her husband, Jeff, of Marseilles, Illinois, and Susan Needham, and her husband, Lawrence, of Conway, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Arizona, and attended Westwood High School in Mesa, Arizona. He entered the United States Navy on June 10, 1974, and was honorably discharged on June 5, 1975, after having served on Midway Island. He then made his home in California for the next six years, and was employed by an attorney’s office doing children’s advocacy work. He also did volunteer IT work for the Joshua Tree Food Bank. Randy had attended cosmetology school and was a licensed cosmetologist and worked as a hair stylist for several years. He moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where he continued to do IT work for other companies. He had recently moved to Conway, Missouri, to be near his family.
In his spare time he ran online bowling leagues and other activities on the computer. He had a good sense of humor and had a very pleasant laugh. His family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with them.
Randy was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
