Randy Mac Harris (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Randy Mac Harris, son of Joe and Lois Helen McIntosh Harris, was born August 31, 1952, in Springfield, Missouri. He departed this life Monday, April 25, 2011, in Cox Medical Center, South, Springfield, Missouri, at the age of fifty-eight years, seven months, and twenty-four days.
On June 24, 2001, Randy was united in marriage to Pamela Ann Doyle and together they have shared the past nine years.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents and his maternal grandparents, Ruth and Rufus McIntosh.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pam, of the home; his son, Joey Harris and his wife, Kendra, of Mansfield, Missouri; two grandchildren, Chase and Carly Harris; a sister, Sheila Matlock and her husband, Richard, of Mansfield, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Oka Doyle, of Mansfield, Missouri; two step-sons, Dustin Lansdown and his wife, Heather, of Paola, Kansas, and Michael Carter of Mansfield, Missouri; a step-daughter, Rachelle Johnson, and her husband, Dennis, of Carthage, Missouri; six step-grandchildren, Cameron, Destiny, and Amber Lansdown, Brianna Carter, and Bailey and Amanda Johnson; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
Randy spent his younger years in Mansfield and was a graduate of Mansfield High School in the Class of 1970. After graduation, Randy went to work for GTE, building Central Offices in various locations throughout the United States. He moved back to Mansfield in the late 1970’s and worked for and managed the local MFA for 5 years before joining PROTEL as an installer.
Randy worked his way through the ranks at PROTEL and was the Vice President of Installation and Service as well as being part-owner of the company at the time of his death.
Randy had a fondness for horses, especially Missouri Fox trotters and had trained many award winning horses throughout his life. He enjoyed driving, collecting, and showing classic Corvettes, and was a member of a vintage Corvette club in Springfield.
Randy was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting and fishing whenever he had the chance.
Randy was a loving husband, father, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends.
