Randy Starnes (Lebanon)'s Obituary
William Randy Starnes, son of John W. and Myrtle E. Gustin Starnes, was born June 23, 1955, in Brownfield, Missouri. He departed this life Monday, March 8, 2021, in his home, near Richland, Missouri, at the age of sixty-five years, eight months, and fifteen days.
On August 13, 1988, he was united in marriage to Julie Ann Hoke, and they shared the last thirty-two years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and infant daughter, Cecile Starnes; and a sister, Linda Massey, and her husband, Darrell.
Randy is survived by his wife, Julie, of the home; two sons, John Starnes, of Brownfield, Missouri, and Brandon Adkins, of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, Homer Starnes, and his wife, Linda, of Brownfield, Missouri; a sister, Minnie Rector, and her husband, Don, of Pensacola, Florida; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Brownfield community and graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1973. After he and Julie were married, they made their home in the Brownfield area and lovingly raised their son. Randy worked in the logging business, did building construction and was a carpet installer, through the years.
He enjoyed being outdoors where he liked hunting, trapping and fishing. He was a free spirit and didn’t take lip from anyone. You always knew where he stood on any situation. He bore the loss of his legs with his sense of humor and avoided work at all cost. His family was important to him and he enjoyed spending time with his son.
Randy was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and was a caring friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
Services for Randy Starnes will be Saturday, March 27 at 10 a.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. A visitation will follow.
A memorial has been established.
Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
