Rayborn D. Johnston (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Rayborn Dean Johnston, son of Thomas G. and Elsie Luttrell Johnston, was born February 5, 1949, near Stoutland, Missouri.  He departed this life Saturday, July 23, 2022, in his home, in Stoutland, Missouri, at the age of seventy-three years, five months, and eighteen days.
On July 1, 1972, he was united in marriage to Nita Lee Mitchell, and to this union one daughter was born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nita; a grandson, Eli; a brother, Charles Johnston; and a sister, Margaret Gier.
Rayborn is survived by his daughter, Jodi Hall, and her husband, Dakota, of Stoutland, Missouri; three grandchildren, Hannah, Rilee, and Mason Wells; four brothers, John Johnston, and his wife, Betty, of Stoutland, Missouri, James Johnston, and his wife, Sherry, of Iberia, Missouri, Larry Johnston, of Eldridge, Missouri, and Kenneth Johnston, of Lebanon, Missouri; three sisters, Nancy Murrell, of Stoutland, Missouri, Thelma Howell, and her husband, David, of Sleeper, Missouri, and Lois Leffert, of Montreal, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He lived his entire life in the Stoutland community.  He started working for the Ozark Fish Hatchery when he was a young man.  He was employed by Tindle Mills, and then later, worked for MFA Agricultural Services for several years.
Rayborn made his profession of faith in Christ early in his life and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
He enjoyed celebrations for different eras of history, including rendezvous, Renaissance Festivals, and other such activities.   He liked life on the farm and enjoyed visiting with his friends and neighbors.  His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed having time with his grandchildren.
Rayborn was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend.  We celebrate his life know that his family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
Funeral services for Rayburn Johnston will be Monday, Aug. 1, 2022 at 10 a.m. in Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 31,from 4 - 5:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillhouse Cemetery near Stoutland.
A memorial has been established and donations may be made to the funeral home.
