Raymond Baker (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Raymond Baker, son of the late Ted and Carol Baker, was born on February 23, 1930 and departed this life on November 12, 2023. At the time of his passing, Raymond was ninety-three years, eight months and twenty days of age.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Helma (Lowe) Baker.
Raymond is survived by his two children, Charlie Baker and Cheryl and her husband Jim Melaven; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild. He also leaves behind many friends and other family members who will all truly miss him.
Raymond was born in Shattuck, Oklahoma and raised in Texas, where he would graduate from high school. He then would attend, Texas University and later Texas Tech University attending for two years to obtain his Pre-Med degree and eight years of medical school to become a Medical Doctor.
Following his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he would proudly serve his country for ten years. While serving in the United States Army, Raymond was stationed in Germany, where he would meet Helma Lowe, and later they would be united in marriage; Together they would have two children and share fifty-three years of marriage.
After his enlistment in the United States Army, Raymond would move his family back to the United States, settling in Topeka, Kansas, where he would raise his family.
In his spare time, Raymond loved to enjoy the simple things in life, watch the news and enjoy a good meal.
Raymond was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 20, 2023 at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Raymond will be laid to rest in Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas.
