Raymond Barnes,'s Obituary
On Saturday, October 29, 2011, a dearly loved son, father, brother and friend, Raymond Eugene Barnes, Jr. departed this world at the age of thirty-four years, three months, and twenty-six days. Although we will miss him we have hope that someday we will be with him again. Raymond Eugene Barnes, Jr. was born on July 3, 1977 at Providence Saint Margaret Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas to Raymond E. Barnes, Sr. and Martha Tidona. He is preceded in death by his paternal great-grandmother Mary Masters. Raymond is survived by his children Malachi, Natalie, Tiffanie and Brett Barnes, his mother Marty Day and her husband Lee, all of the home; his father Raymond Eugene Barnes, Sr. of Seymour, Missouri; his sisters, Stephanie Rhodes of Rogersville, Missouri, Kathy Barnes, Crystal Barnes both of Kansas City, Missouri; his brothers, Johnny Barnes of Seymour, Missouri, Michael Barnes of Kansas City, Missouri; his maternal grandparent Amanda Patton of Kansas City, Missouri; his paternal grandparents Carl and Helen Johnson of Seymour, Missouri along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and the mother of his children Linda Barnes whom was the love of his life. Growing up in the Seymour area, Ray was a true country boy with fishing on his mind. He walked these old rugged hills at peace with the world, quick with a smile and took the time for those he cared for. He was a specialist in laying tile and worked hard to provide for his family. Loving, compassionate, a soft-hearted man, Ray was a wonderful son. His family was his world, and he left a legacy of love behind for them to carry on. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, spending time with family and friends, but he was at his happiest with his children. He knew there was someone up above to put his faith in so; Raymond began attending church with his children. Raymond Barnes, Jr. was a loving and devoted father, son, brother, uncle, nephew and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and will treasure the wonderful memories he has created. We are proud of the man that you became, you were well loved and we will miss you. Services for Raymond Eugene Barnes, Jr. will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2011 in the Holman-Howe Chapel, burial following at the Fairview Cemetery, West of Mt. Grove, MO under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour. Visitation will be from 9am until time of service in the funeral home.
