Raymond Beasley's Obituary
Raymond LeRoy Beasley, son of Elmer LeRoy and Ethel Faye (Stark) Beasley, was born February 22, 1944, on the family farm near Grovespring, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, June 17, 2010, in his home, in Hartville, Missouri at the age of sixty-six years, three months and twenty-five days.
In February of 1979 he was united in marriage to Sharon Kay Moore and they lovingly raised their son together.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Everett, Norman, Hayden and Dale.
Raymond is survived his son, Carl Beasley, serving overseas in the United States Air Force; the mother of his son, Sharon Coffman and her husband, Buck, of Hartville, Missouri; a brother, Doyel Beasley, of Houston, Missouri; four sisters, Lura Beltz, of Greenbeir, Arkansas, Fern Beltz and husband Virgil, of Cabool, Missouri, Lillian Woods, of Olathe, Kansas, and Violet Jones, of Norfork, Virginia; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
He was born northeast of Grovespring and later the family moved to the Smittle area of Wright County, where he attended the Smittle and Winter’s Schools. Again moving into Hartville, he attended the Hartville School. He went to work driving a truck for the Feed Mill for a few years, and then started driving over the road. He had worked for the Bill Lee Pallet Company, Tyson Foods, and hauled milk. After retiring he had worked part-time for Larry Crisp Motors, driving cars. Raymond loved his family, and always looked forward to Carl’s returns from his deployments.
He was a very private person, and always loved to joke around with people, especially his mother. His big heart was always willing to help those in need. He found great pleasure going to LJD’s Café spending time drinking coffee and visiting friends. In his spare time he liked collecting guns, knives and caps.
Raymond was a devoted dad, loving brother, uncle and a kind and caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. We celebrate his life and accomplishments, and will forever hold dear the memories he created for his family and many friends. He will be greatly missed but will live on in our hearts forever.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010 in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Hartville, Missouri.
A brief gathering of friends will follow the service in the funeral home.
