Raymond Decker's Obituary
Raymond Lester Decker, son of Robert Allison and Effie Mae Walker Decker, was born December 12, 1920, near Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this Wednesday, December 6, 2006, in Christian Healthcare North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-five years, eleven months, and twenty-four days. He was preceded in death by his parents; his longtime companion, Mabel Goff; two brothers, Robert and Chester Decker; two sisters, Sylvia Lewis, and Goldie Rogers; and three nephews, Noel Rogers, Delbert Lee Hogue, Jr., and Bill Ray Lewis. Raymond is survived by two sisters, Maxine Hogue, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Grace Hunter, of Liberty Hill, Texas; five nieces and two nephews; special friends, Cheryl and Larry Anthony, and their children, Bret and Brooks, all of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Laclede County, and then moved with his family to California when he was a child. He continued to make his home in California for the most of his life and worked as a jack hammer operator doing building construction. In the 1970’s he retired and moved back to Lebanon, Missouri. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, taking care of his home and planting beautiful flowers. Raymond will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of his family and many friends. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
