Raymond E. Finley (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Raymond Everett Finley, Jr., son of Raymond Everett Finley, Sr. and Carolyn Pase Finley, was born January 12, 1959, in Sioux City, Iowa. He departed this life Monday, July 23, 2012, in Cox Medical Center South, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of fifty-three years, six months, and eleven days.
On November 6, 1999, he was united in marriage to Stacy Ann Lamar, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister.
Ray is survived by his loving wife, Stacy, of the home; a daughter, Megan Finley, of the home; a son, Kyle Finley, of the home; his mother, Carolyn Gentry, of Richland, Missouri; his father, Raymond E. Finley, Sr., of Onawa, Iowa; three brothers, Dennis Finley, of the State of Illinois, Kelly Finley, serving in the military, and Fred Finley, of the State of Oregon; four sisters, Pam Clancy, of Portland, Oregon, Laura Finley, of the State of Texas, Mary Finley, of the State of Oregon, and Chris Dennison, of DeKalb, Illinois; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born in Iowa and was raised in various different places while his father was working for the Bendix Corporation. He graduated from high school in Kansas, and then entered the United States Air Force in 1979. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, Ray worked in restaurant management in several locations and then worked as an apartment complex manager. For the last nine years, he and Stacy had made their home in Richland, Missouri, and were lovingly raising their children. Ray was currently employed as a store manager by Gas Plus – Hocker Oil Company in Lebanon.
Raymond had made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of First Assembly of God in Lebanon.
In his spare time he enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, fishing, and feeding the birds. He possessed a very outgoing personality and never met a stranger. He was always willing to help others and loved his family dearly.
Ray was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
