Raymond Long (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Raymond W. Long departed this life on April 26, 2018 at his Osage Beach home. He was born July 13, 1921 in Gladstone, Michigan, a son of the late Marion F. and Lydia M (Hillman) Long. He was ninety-six years, nine months, and thirteen days of age.
Raymond was united in marriage to Dorothy Janet (Peterson) Long on January 10, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois and they shared seventy-two wonderful years of marriage. They had three children together.
He was a member of New Life Church of the Nazarene in Camdenton, Missouri. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and skiing.
Raymond is survived by a daughter, Janet Horchner of Camdenton, Missouri; a son, Jerry G. Long of Leadville, Colorado; a sister, Carol J. Long of Gladstone, Michigan; eight grandsons, Todd Horchner, Troy Horchner, Ryan Long, Andrew Long, Raymond Long, Erick Reveles, Manny Reveles, John Reveles; one granddaughter, Oly Warner; daughter-in-law, Kathy Long of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; twelve great-grandchildren, and Lucy Bullock of Osage Beach, Missouri.
Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Janet (Peterson) Long; his parents; a son, Jack Long; a grandson, Keith Long; three brothers, Lyle, Vernon, and Arlon Long and a sister, Marjorie Kircher.
He was a WW II Veteran with the United States Army. Raymond was an International Representative for The United Papermakers Union for many years. He was also a member of The American Legion and Full Gospel Businessmen.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 11, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at New Life Church of the Nazarene, Camdenton, Missouri. Visitation will be at the church from 2:00 p.m. until time of service. Inurnment will be in Fernwood Cemetery, Gladstone, Michigan at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to Medical Missions for Christ, 1974 N Business Route 5 Camdenton, Missouri 65020-2612 in his memory.
