Raymond "Edwin" Long (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Raymond “Edwin” Long was born May 1, 1943 in Lebanon, Missouri to Guy Raymond Long and Bertha L. Anthony Long. He passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024 in Lebanon North Nursing and Rehab in Lebanon, Missouri. At the time of his passing, Edwin was eighty-one years, two months and nineteen days of age.
Edwin grew up in Lebanon and completed his schooling there before joining the United States Army. He faithfully served his country, serving in the Vietnam War.
On June 17, 1962, he was united in marriage to his lifelong love, Eva Kenfield. Together they shared over sixty-one years of love and happiness and stood by each other during the challenges of life.
Edwin was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Eva; his sister, Leann Campbell; a brother-in-law, Victor Campbell and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Long.
He is survived by his siblings, Freeman Long and his wife Janice, Kenneth Long and his wife Edna, Rebecca Eilenstein and her husband Keith and Richard Long, all of Lebanon, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Edwin made his career in the boat industry in Lebanon. He started his employment with Appleby Boats, following by Richline Boats and Voyager Boats. He made many good friends and was very knowledgeable in the boat manufacturing business. He was well-respected and highly regarded in his field.
He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Edwin loved to travel on his motorcycle on many trips. He and Eva also enjoyed traveling and went to Hawaii on two different occasions. They had many stories to tell about their adventures.
The family would like to thank Lebanon Health Care North Hospice and The Arbors for the care, love and respect they provided Edwin in his final days.
Words cannot adequately express the impact he has had on the lives of his family and so many others. He will certainly be missed by those who knew and loved him.
Services for Edwin Long will be private. Burial will be in Whitson Cemetery. A memorial to Whitson Cemetery has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
