Raymond Edward Starr (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Raymond Edward Starr, son of John and Karen Sue Davis Starr, was born January 10, 1962, in St. Augustine, Florida. He departed this life Wednesday, January 8, 2014, in Story County, Iowa, at the age of fifty-one years, eleven months, and twenty-eight days.
On November 27, 2013, he was united in marriage to Dawn Michele Deckard Agee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant brother, Victor Starr.
Ray is survived by his wife, Dawn, of the home; nine children, John Starr, of St. Louis, Missouri, Cayenne Bevens, of Louisville, Kentucky, Samuel Starr, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, James Estes, of the State of Colorado, Tim Estes, and Phala Ira, both of St. Louis, Missouri; three stepsons, Bobby, Michael, and Christopher Masters, all of Lebanon, Missouri; twenty-five and one-half grandchildren; a brother and a sister; two very special friends, Pat Smith, and Paul Macal, both of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born in Florida and was raised in various locations around the country while his father was serving in the military. After graduating from high school, he made his home in various places, and then served his country faithfully in the United States Navy for a few years. He eventually settled in Oklahoma for a short time and then made his home in Lebanon for the last several years. Throughout his life, Ray had worked as a truck driver and was employed by Wagoner Transport Company for several years. He had been driving for Marine Electric Products for the last year.
In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activity was hunting. He also liked working on his truck and helping others in fixing their trucks. He was a very private man, but loved his family dearly.
Raymond was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
A Memorial has been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
