Raymond Wimberly (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Raymond Wesley Wimberly, son of John W. and Myrtle Reid Wimberly, was born August 23, 1940, near Drynob, Missouri. He departed this life Monday, January 23, 2012, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-one years, and five months.
On February 23, 1963, he was united in marriage to Mary Kathryn Shumate, and to this union two daughters were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Tom Wimberly; and a sister, Lillian Singleton.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife of forty-eight years, Kathryn, of the home; two daughters, Jennifer Laddusire, and her husband, Dennis, and Melissa Blankenship, all of Lebanon, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jeremy, Stephanie, and Matthew; four great-grandchildren, Skylar, Brayden, Khloe, and Daniel; two sisters, Peggy Jo Gibbs, and her husband, Howard, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Barbara Bates, of Bates City, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Laclede County, and received his education there. After he and Kathryn were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area, and lovingly raised their daughters. Throughout the years, Raymond worked as an automobile mechanic.
Raymond had established his own personal relationship with his Lord and Savior and followed the Pentecostal faith.
In his spare time he enjoyed traveling with friends, and particularly liked making trips to Utah. He enjoyed tinkering and puttering around with things, and liked riding ATV’s. He had a bigger than life personality and liked to flirt and tease. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Raymond was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of his family and many friends.
