Raymond Woody's Obituary
Raymond Woody, son of Charley and Rosie (Renfro) Woody, was born September 29, 1927, in Douglas County, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, October 7, 2008, in Rocky Ridge Manor, in Mansfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-one years, and eight days. On December 24, 1955, he was united in marriage to Geneva Coffman; and to this union one son and two daughters were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Bessie, Nola and Pernia; and two brothers, Otis and Lester. Raymond is survived by his wife, Geneva, of the home; a son, Bobby Woody, of Mansfield, Missouri; two daughters, Wanda Schreurs, and her husband, Tom, of Mansfield, Missouri, and Carol Jones, and her husband, Scott, of Rogersville, Missouri; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends. He was raised in Wright County around the Hartville area and moved to Mansfield in 1955. Besides working on the farm, he also worked for Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Factory and Hutchens Steel Plant. Raymond had made his profession of belief in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family, metal working and loved talking to his friends on the phone. Raymond was a kind and caring person with a big heart. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories he has created for his family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the Little Creek Cemetery, North of Hartville, Missouri. Burial will follow in the Little Creek Cemetery. Visitaion will be from 6-7:00 p.m. Thursday evening in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Mansfield. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Mansfield. Return to top
