Raymond Young's Obituary
Raymond Dean Young, Sr., son of Frank and Verda Hill Young, was born May 30, 1945, in Marshfield, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, January 29, 2010, in his home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-four years, seven months, and twenty-nine days. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Frank Young, Jr.; and a sister, Naomi Calhoun. Raymond is survived by two daughters, Kim Ball, and her husband, Gary, and Christine Jones, and her husband, Irvin, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Raymond Young, Jr., of the State of Iowa; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was raised in the Northview community, and then moved to Iowa to seek work when he was in his twenty’s. While living in Iowa, he began raising his family and worked as an auto mechanic. For the last several years, he had made his home in Lebanon and had worked for Douglas Auto Repair for over ten years. In his spare time he enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting, and also liked to go to the races. He had a very outgoing personality and was well liked. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Raymond was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Services will be held on Tuesday February 2, 2010 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Welch Cemetery. Visitation is Monday evening 5-7:00 p.m. under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral home of Lebanon, Missouri. A memorial has been established and donations may be made through the funeral home.
