Lloyd was united in marriage to the love of his life Louise Vance on July 19, 1948 and to this union two children were born. He is survived by his wife Louise of the home; one daughter Lequeeta and her husband James Bolin of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and one son Stan Welch and his wife Sherry of Mansfield, Missouri; three grandchildren, Steven Welch and his wife Danina of Seattle, Washington, Sumer Tripp and her husband Doug of Mansfield, Missouri, and Chris Bolin and his wife Jennifer of Dexter, Missouri; seven great-grandchildren, Hannah, Haley and Haven Tripp of Mansfield, Missouri, Elizabeth and Emily Bolin of Dexter, Missouri, and Van and Carter Welch of Seattle, Washington; one sister Bernice and husband Paul Philipp of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri; one brother Dick Gordon and wife Kathy of Salem, Missouri. His parents, Bill Welch and Mamie Patterson Welch Gordon Davis, preceded Lloyd in death. Lloyd's father Bill passed away when Lloyd was 7 years old. Lloyd's mother had to find work in St. Louis to provide for Lloyd and his sister so he and his sister stayed a few years with his grandparents Richard and Ola Welch. Lloyd was saved at the age of 20 years old, and at the age of 25 was diagnosed with kidney poisoning and given up to die. While in intensive care, his wife Louise was told he had eight hours to live. Lloyd was awaken from a coma by a bright light at the foot of his bed. The light engulfed his body and God miraculously healed him. Soon after his healing, he was called into ministry and shared this testimony everywhere he had the opportunity. He received his credentials with the Assemblies of God. Lloyd and his wife Louise were involved in Pastoral ministry for 58 years. Lloyd's ministry included being pastor of his home church in Eminence Missouri for 30 years. He also pastored at First Assembly in Flat River, Missouri. In 1997 Lloyd and Louise came to Mansfield First Assembly as Associate Pastors with their son Stan for ten years. They continued to serve under Pastor Jerry Orf until Lloyd went to be with the Lord. Lloyd was Ordained with the Assemblies of God in 1967. He served as Presbyter of the Van Burean Section, and also as Executive Presbyter of Southeast Region of the Southern Missouri District of the Assemblies of God for a total of 19 years. The greatest love of his life was his wife Louise for 65 years. He loved his family and was very proud of them. He had a special love for his grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
Before Lloyd’s health failed he loved the outdoors, and loved fishing especially on Current and Jack Fork’s river. Lloyd loved to grow beautiful roses; his favorite was the yellow rose. He took great joy and pride in his yard and kept the church grounds looking beautiful. He was known for his great heart to serve and was willing to serve wherever he was needed. Lloyd will be greatly missed by his family, friends and church family. Psalms 116:15 "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints."
